Cozy Fall Dress Styles You Can Wear to Work

Fall is a wonderful time of the year, it’s usually not too hot but also not snowing yet. So, you can enjoy pumpkin patches, apple picking, and viewing fall leaves in relative comfort. However, sometimes it can get a bit chilly, and there are places where you might need to wear a dress–like to work. So, what should you do? You don’t want to be uncomfortable. We’ve got you covered. Here are several cozy dress styles you can still wear to work!

Long Maxi Dresses

You can never go wrong with a maxi dress for fall and winter. They’ll keep your legs covered and therefore more warm. These dresses also tend to be a bit more flowy, so they can also be more comfortable. Since you can’t see your feet or legs underneath the dress that well, you can also get away with more comfortable shoes that might not match and even leggings underneath for added warmth.

Knee Length Dress with Tights

Do you remember in grade school when you wore tights under your dresses? Well, your mom was onto something. Dresses and tights are a fall go-to. Tights look best under knee-length dresses. For work, you’ll probably want to go with a neutral color under your dress. However, for social events or for fun, you can get away with much bolder colored tights. They also add a really fun pop of colors on an otherwise dreary fall day!

Knee Length Dress with Boots, Scarf, and a Hat

Why not grab your favorite knee-length dress and add your favorite boots. If it’s not too chilly, you might be able to rock this ensemble without tights! Just make sure you put some nice heavy socks underneath your boots, but don’t have the socks peek out. For some added warmth and some fun styling, add a cute plaid scarf and a neutral colored beanie that matches the scarf. For an added touch, you can always put on a denim jacket as well. This look will probably work best for a workplace with a more casual dress code. It’s also good to keep in mind that this might not be the outfit you want to wear on a super chilly fall day, either.

Leggings Under Any Dress

Did you know that you can put leggings under almost any dress? Be sure to grab a few pairs of fleece-lined leggings that have a cable knit textured outside. Get them in colors like black, white, dark green, navy, brown, etc. You can wear them under maxi dresses and they won’t be seen at all. If you wear them under a knee or t-length dress, you’ll see them a little, but they’ll look like tights. They are better than tights though. They are more comfortable and will keep you warmer. They can also combat the sheerness of some dresses as well!
